Position Title: Supervisor Electrical Engineer – PE

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Position Summary:

Engineer Level 6: Technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. Plans and develops engineering projects with unique or controversial problems which impact major company programs. Involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation, novel concepts and approaches. Maintains liaison with individuals and units within or outside the organization, with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters. Work at this level requires extensive progressive experience. Supervision received is administrative, with assignments given in terms of general objectives and limits. Includes responsibilities for Performance Reviews.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Plans, organizes, and supervises the work of a staff of Engineers, Designers and CAD/BIM drafters. Evaluates progress and recommends major changes to achieve objectives

Essential Job Functions:

  • Complete tasks and projects assigned by Engineering Manager

  • Develop construction documents consisting of drawings and specifications/documentation

  • Reviews designs of team and applies QAQC processes through the design phase

  • Technical resource for Project managers facilitating Bids and Proposals

  • Supervise, support, and technically develop Engineering team \

  • Support staff with meeting the Engineering Department's objectives

  • Complete Performance Reviews and support direct report’s in achieving goals

Other Functions:

  • Perform engineering calculations and utilize SKM and eTAP for power study software and analysis

  • Attend internal and external meetings - architect, MEP, GC, Owner coordination

  • Maintain technical development goals and continuing education credits

  • Obtain Professional Development and Training

Other Responsibilities:

  • Implement the Engineering department's Design and CAD workflows among team

  • Interact and coordinate with CEI's inter-department staff and managers supporting their agenda

  • Coordinate with CAD-BIM Managers and develop standards

  • Perform Power studies and provide mentorship to Designers

  • Ensure documents conform to State and NEC CODES

  • Enforce Standards and processes outlined by the CAD/BIM Manager

Minimum Requirements:

  • Electrical Engineering or similar Bachelor of Science degree

  • Minimum 7 years working as a PE for an electrical design firm or design build electrical contractor

  • Basic Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD - MEP/REVIT - Etap/SKM (desired)

  • Good time management, communication and people skills

  • Professional Engineer's license State of California
