PROGRAM OVERVIEW
 
 The Johnson Controls Engineering Development Program (EDP) is a two -year program designed to help top engineering talent develop their technical skills through two rotational assignments across the engineering organization.  During each assignment, EDP engineers participate in technical, leadership and on-the-job training.   Participants will also be involved with projects and initiatives that directly impact our strategic operations and business growth. This position requires the ability to relocate for assignment rotation.
 
 
 Job Responsibilities: 
  • Will partake in writing, testing and debugging embedded software. 
  • Participate in the automation of hardware and software testing for engineering development and product testing.
  • Data management and integration into systems and data mining from vast variety of sensors. 
  • Project design testing to make sure all connections are secure and fault tolerant.
  • Participate in cross functional reviews.
  • Document acceptance criteria.
 
Qualifications: 
  • Talented Senior pursuing BS degree in Computer Science, Software or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • The candidate should have good understanding of algorithms and data structures and should be able to code efficiently in one or more programming languages (C, Linux and tiny OS programming).
  • Experience associated with data management and manipulation is a plus.
  • Since the embedded software is tightly coupled to hardware, the person needs familiarity with hardware interfaces and the software needed to facilitate interfaces properly.
  • Able to define environmental test specification and lead the testing, data collection, and interpret results, and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Hands-on contributor and team player.
  • Self-motivated and drives for results.
